William Hogarth

William Hogarth (1697 - 1764) ' Self portrait with pug dog: Trump' Engraved by B. Smith, Published in June 1795.

Hogarth was an English Painter, printmaker and engraver,  born in London.  His work ranged from realistic portraiture to comic strip-like series of pictures. Knowledge of his work is so pervasive that satirical political illustrations in this style are often regarded to as Hogarthian.

This is a charming portrait.
