Norman Lloyd 1895 - 1983
An Australian painter in 1930 he migrated to London to St Johns Wood. He established himself in London as well as hosting parties, his house became a meeting point for Australian expats but also London creatives including pianist Nancy Weir and war correspondent Harold Fyffe.
He was elected as a member for Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 1936 and became a member of The London Sketch Club over which he provided from 1941-1942.
His style evokes impressionism, he was known for painting fast having a love for textural oils and pastels as seen here!
Loyds work is now shown in the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Queensland Art Gallery and numbers private collections in Australia, Europe and US.
