Paul Lucien Maze (1887-1979)

Born in France but educated in England, attach to the Royal Scots Greys in WWI and served Britain in WWII. In face nearly all of his paintings including this one typified all things British.

He was appointed official painter of Queen Elizabeth II coronation and was famously known as ‘the last of the post impressionists’.
