SEM 'Le Vrai & Le Faux Chic'

This folio is a fun and lively illustration of pre war fashion with eccentric hats, dresses and full of high society ladies of there time.

Georges Goursat, or SEM (1863–1934), was a well known French artist during the golden age of illustrated magazines and newspapers.

He famously drew caricatures of his contemporaries, published in newspapers. He would attend fashionable events in casinos, horse races and Parisian cabarets and restaurants, rubbing shoulders with high society all the time, which became his favorite subject as illustrated in this fabulous folio.
